Our Story
Like many of the Scottish diaspora, I grew up in tropical climates. I have always been proud of my heritage and love to wear my kilt on special occasions, so I was unhappy to not be able to do so on my 10th wedding anniversary in the Maldives, it would have been way too hot. That got me thinking, there must be a better way to wear a traditional tartan kilt when the weather is hot. So, I created our hot weather/tropical kilt (patent pending) to enable me to wear my tartan kilt proudly whenever I want to.

I decided to make a traditional tartan 5 yard kilt from 100% organic Linen and Cotton in a Black Stewart tartan that you can see in these pictures. Like my kilt, all our kilts are custom made to suit individual measurements using the best organic fabrics we can find.

Sustainability
We work with organic producers and local manufacturers
The vast majority of traditional tartan kilts are made of either wool, or a mix of wool and polyviscose (Rayon in the USA), material that has a heavy carbon footprint and impact on the environment. By choosing to work with linen and cotton we not only ensure that the thermal conductivity of our kilts is better suited to hot weather wear, but also minimises our impact on the environment.
Our Partners
We respect people as much as we respect the planet.
To reinforce our commitment to sustainability, we work wherever possible with local craftspeople and manufacturers to minimise any additional carbon footprint created through manufacturing or transport. Our partners are important to us, as is their support and we are always keen to hear from our customers how happy they are with their kilts.

Our Fabrics
Crafted from sustainably grown fibres.
We chose to work with 100% linen and GOTS cotton to minimise both the temperature for the wearer as well as our impact on the environment.
